Submitting Files

There are several methods for dictating: telephone (Landline or cellular), digital or analog recorder, or a computer equipped with dictation software.

Dictate by Telephone

You may call into our toll-free dictation line (800-706-2412) to dictate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Once you call into the dictation system, press 1 and follow the prompts to begin dictating. You will be required to enter in your WeScribeIt account number and PIN number (which you set up on your Preferences page) to dictate. The dictation call-in system allows up to 1 hour of record time per each call.

Once you are done dictating just simply hang-up and your audio will be typed by a qualified typist.

Dictate by Recorder

You may use a digital or analog recorder device to dictate. Once they are saved on your recorder, you then connect the recorder to your computer so that you are able to save the dictation files onto your computer hard drive. You can then submit your files to WeScribeIt via your account Upload Files page (20MB and under) or FTP.

We accept many different formats for your convenience:

  • MP3
  • MP4
  • WAV
  • WMA
  • DSS
  • PDF
  • RA or RM
  • DVF or MSV
  • ZIP which contains any of the formats above

If you have a different audio format than what is listed above, we still may be able to help. Use the Contact Us page to let us know what format you have and we will get back with you within 24 hours.

You may also be able to use a cable to connect your recorder into your telephone and play your recorded dictation into our toll-free number system. The cables are available at any Radio Shack or similar.

Dictate by Computer

There are several programs available on-line that enables you to dictate through your computer. You can do a Google search or go to downloads.com to find a program that best meets your needs. Once you have recorded your dictation, save it to your hard drive and upload it via your account Upload Files page or one of the other methods available for submitting files.
